Where was I born?
My name is Simon Brennan.
I was born in South Africa in a little town called Vereeniging, specifically Vereeniging Hospital, which is still around today.

Family and Friends
In my immediate family I have my younger brother Matthew, my mom, Nicola and my dad, George.
My mom is originally from Southern England (Essex) and was born there.
My dad is originally from Ireland, born just outside Dublin. His family move to the UK when he was young.
I am lucky to have a large family. Some of it I’ve only learned I had in last couple years due to some Geneology research my
mom has been doing. My grand parents and my Aunt (on my moms side) live in South Africa in Vereeniging.
I also have my grandmother and uncles in the UK (on my dads side).
In the UK (on my moms side), I have a Great Aunt and Uncle and 3 second cousins.
I have a couple groups of friends who are spread out across the globe
My two best friends I’ve known forever are Sean and Robert.
Sean is currently living in the UK and Robert is living in South Africa.
My other best friend here in Australia is Eamonn.
Interests
I have a number of interests. I enjoy reading books. I enjoy the scifi fantasy genres.
Specifically books like Wheel of Time, Star Wars alternate universe, Warhammer etc.
Other things I enjoy reading are Linux, Computing and Gaming magazines.
As you have gathered from above I am into Gaming and all things related to the PC and Linux.
To balance my technical side, I have an electric and acoustic guitar which I enjoy playing on to unwind.
I also enjoy my movies and TV Series. SciFi, action and comedy.
Where do I live?
Currently I’m living in Adelaide, South Australia. I’ve been here for about 3 years.
Before that I’d lived all my life in South Africa. Up until the age of 4 or so, I’d lived in different places
thoughout Gauteng. From about the age of 5 until 13, I lived in Florida Lake, Roodepoort.
There after until I left South Africa, I lived in Florida Park, Roodepoort.
What do I do for a living?
I’m a trained IT Professional and I specialise in System Administration of large scale clusters and storage systems.
In my current job I maintain High Performance Computing clusters and disk / tape storage
for the University of Adelaide.
