Last weekend I got invited to go to the Sea and Vines 2009 tour in Mclaren Vale.
It was organised by my girlfriends employer and included the bus trips to and from the Winery, which was great.
Started at the Middlebrook Estate, which was a very nice winery. Tried all different wines, some Reds, some Whites. What was interesting is the Wines were from NSW and not from SA. But they were really really good. Needless to say I had a fair amount for wine. Got a wine glass from the Winery as well to show off the occasion.
After spending a couple hours chatting to friends and trying different wines, we moved onto the Mclaren Vale Bocce Club. Had lunch there which was Grilled Barramundi (Yum), prawns on a skewer, cous cous and some nice Veges. Was really good. Also tried some wines, the one bottle of wine we got was from Dog Ridge and it was a Sweet white wine. It was pretty rough and most people agreed not all that nice. The others wines we tried were quite good.
The only thing that detracted from the Bocce club was it was quite muddy and absolutely packed.
All in all, it was a great weekend, spent in the company of friends and great wine!
