In todays news….

Picked up my new Collectors Edition copy of Unreal Tournament 3 today. It’s in a black tin and looks quite sexy. It was released today, but I only remembered to check the release date yesterday so I got a nice surprise. The computer shop I bought if from was about a 10 min walk away. It’s quite warm today, but not unbearable. 34 Degrees I think. There is a park on the way to the shop, which I walked through. The main path through it has trees lining each side. Very pretty. There were some people playing chess on a human size chess board….. If they did that back in SA, all the pieces would have been stolen. Also, walking around at lunchtime, reminded me of how may beautiful woman there are in Adelaide. They are all over place. Absolutely stunning.

On the work front, I’ve got some after hours work scheduled for Sunday, which should go smoothly, and only take a couple hours. Will save me a lot of headaches in the long run. On top of this two providers we host with are doing network maintenance this weekend. Everything is setup to handle any problems occurring, but you never know :p

Tomorrow night, my brother has invited some friends around for a LAN. Friday night is going to be busy one. Up until late. Maybe I can persuade them to play UT3 :)
We are definitely going to play COD4. That should be good multiplayer.

Other good news, I got my ADSL provider internode to fix up their mistake when we moved house. They upgraded my line for me to ADSL2+ (up to 24mbps). Took about 20 mins for the change to take effect. They also refunded me as the new package is $10 a month cheaper.
Yes I know, 1.5mbps 20Gb on Telstra is $10 a month more than Agile 24mbps 20Gb package.
More speed is cheaper in Aus. Figure that one out :p
I get 3.5mbps, as I live about 3km from the exchange. I don’t mind, it’s really fast compared to the old line, and I’m happy. Downloads and WoW fly!

Ah well, until we meet again….

I’m back after a long break.
Moving into the new house has been great. It’s a really nice place. But there was something missing.
The family decided it was time to get some pets. After thinking about it, we decided on a cat. We love dogs, but there isn’t a big enough garden for a dog. So we got these two little bundles of fur…..

Garfield

Tux

The ginger cat we named Garfield, and the black and white one is called Tux. Tux because he looks like he has a little tuxedo on :)

They are currently duffing each other up. Very cute and very loving. Little explorers.
I put up a barricade to keep them in the laundry, but they figured out how to get around it in about 5 mins :p

Other than that, I’ve been busy working away as usual. I think I’m finally getting on top of things. Which is always a good thing. The company hosts some servers near San Francisco, and about 4 days ago there was an earthquake! 5.6 on the Richter scale……
Gives you that warm fuzzy felling. The servers survived without problems, and connectivity wasn’t lost. Phew.

Well until next time…. cheers
